TD04-9B Compressor Map

(Stock Dodge Stealth & 3000GT turbos)

I must first thank co-worker Garry McKissick (small car platform powertrain engineer) for obtaining the map with Mitsubishi Motor's concurrence to share it with the public.  In fact, to quote Mitsubishi, "it (TD04-9B) is a much older design and we have no worries about it being shown around to people."  The first pic is as I received it from Mitsubishi (fairly high quality .jpeg).

The flow is so low (compared to the other turbos I've graphed) that I had to change the x-axis so the flow map wasn't so crammed to the left.  The flow is half that used for my other 16G graphs.  In fact, to view this graph with the 16G, click here.  You can maybe now understand why a stock turbo is best raced by short shifting (especially if you have a boost controller trying to hold higher boost).

The engine demand lines were generated using the inputs outlined on the 16G web page, click here to review those inputs (at bottom of page).
